ŸŸŸOkutama Lake
The whole Okutama Lake, about 29 minutes from JR Okutama by bus, can be seen from a observatory in Okutama.
About 6,000 cherry trees bloom in late April. It must be the last time to enjoy cherry blossoms, magnificent scenery.
Okutama lake is so called "Ogouchi Dam" which is famous for the source of water supply for Tokyo citizens. Its headwaters is Tamba river at the upper Tamagawa in which is Tamba-mura, Yamanashi. This area has no volcanoes, so there are a forest abundant in trees as well as various plants and living things there.

It is a fishing spot of big Yamame from here to Okutama Lake. This spot is very popular for anglers.
ŸŸŸNippara Keikoku
Nippara Limestone Cave is at Ogawa-Dani, Nippara village. Take the bus. It takes about 30 minutes at JR Okutama. Nippara river flows from creeks of Oh-Kumotori-Tani and Nagasawa-Tani which flow from Mt.Kumotori (2,018m) and Rokkan-Tani. The great river with a girdle of fine trees having a plenty of water which threaded through mountains carries fresh and cold water into Tama river. This ravine is a huge scale. It must be fascinate anglers and climbers.
ŸŸŸOkutama Mizu & Mori no Fureai-kan
Getting knowlidge of water and forest. This museam is within easy access of a parking lot and a observatory at Okutama Lake. Enjoy some virtual reality of its history and nature with the newest high tech equipments. In the museum, a restaurant serves local tasted and special local products are available. Also it is a fascinating spot for tourists in Okutama.
ŸŸŸMoegi no Yu
10 minutes walk from JR Okutama. Hikawa tunnel on Ome road nearby. Enjoy in a cozy hot spring after walking in woods and playing in the river. The outside bath in greenery is available. It is a fluorine spring. Take a rest in a hall and enjoy some beer, and so on.
